Immunohistochemistry of the cytoskeletal protein vimentin (VIM) in the subplate of the telencephalon of a 18-week human foetus. Immunolabeled fibers of the primary radial glia are recognizable as short tracts in the neuropil and in close, extensive contact with the wall of radial microvessel. Postmitotic forms of astroblasts are also revealed. For details see "Astroglia-microvessel relationship in the developing human telencephalon" by Virgintino et al. in this issue.
