Whole-mount preparation of a stage 1 3 embryo of the marsupial frog Gastrotheca riobambae immunostained against the neur al antigen 2G9. Outstanding features of Gastrotheca embryos are their flat morpholo gy and prominent streams of migrating cranial neural crest cells that surround the develo ping head. Antigen 2G9 is expressed in alternate streams of migrating cranial neural crest cells, in regions of the developing brain and in the neural crest trunk. Rhombomeres 3 an d 5 are antigen 2G9 negative. For details see "Neural development in the marsupial frog Gastrotheca riobambae" by E.M. del Pino and A. Medina in this issue.
